About Us

Two moms rambling on about marriage, motherhood and their many arrows.

Hello, Hello, we are Christa and Cassie, cousins-in-laws (is that a thing?), and married mamas of 4.Yes, 4! We are so excited to share a little bit about our lives through this blog, and hopefully grow and learn alongside all of you. Over the years we have bonded over the things we have in common and have learned (and are still learning) from each other through our differences. In our opinion is is one of the things that makes motherhood so fantastic. That we are all in it together, no handbooks, doing our best. Sometimes we NAIL IT, other times not so much, but we learn, we grow and we pray hard for our children through it all.

So as we ramble on, we hope you find this place helpful, entertaining, and a supportive community for you on your own journey as a mom.

Why HELLO there! My name is Christa. I’d like to start off by saying we are not billionaires, we don’t travel the world, we don’t live in a perfectly designed home, and I am definitely not a fashion designer, hair or makeup expert!

Pre-kids, our house was always spotless {likely due to self-diagnosed OCD}. Mid-kids, my OCD went into remission and now with four kids, I believe I’m cured. Can I get a Hallelujah?!?! Nowadays, our house is almost NEVER spotless. I’m a Stay At Home Mom who doesn’t homeschool {that decision wasn’t easy, but I’ll get into that another day}. A N D lastly, I’m an introverted extrovert who would rather be off the gird in the mountains with my family. Moral of my story here guys, is I am by no means perfect. I’m your typical normal mom trying to live her best life!

I love my kids fiercely {so much I could literally just eat them up!}. We are a growing Christian family with four kids {ages 6, 4, 3, and 1}, and since we’ve been asked the question many times before, the answer is yes. My husband and I know how babies are made and I think judging by the fact that we’ve got 4 kids {which is really not that many in my opinion} we are pretty dang good at it! A N D yes I know my hands are full…. but {key sappy music} my heart is even fuller. My husband and I have been married for N I N E years and I don’t know how I could ever survive without him. He is HANDS DOWN my absolute best friend, my partner in crime, the cheese to my macaroni, the peanut butter to my jelly, the Waylon to my Willie – I mean seriously, guys there is nothing I could possibly write on here to explain how lucky I am to call that man mine. No words could ever do him and how lucky I am justice! He is a hunter and on successful hunt seasons we are a hunt to eat family and PROUD of it! We are going on 3 years living in our fixer upper that is taking a lot longer to fix up than I thought it would……….I mean come on HGTV, you lied! Ever since an eye doctor told me my eyes were severely sun damaged and the realization that I’m now in my 30’s, you can usually find me in a hat and sunglasses walking with an entourage of children. And MAN, even though there are days when I just want to rip all my HAIRS out, I find motherhood to be so overwhelmingly awesome.

My hope for this blog is that it will be down to earth and full of real encouragement for all of us amazing mommas out there! So if you’ve enjoyed my rambling and are interested in getting a glimpse into how motherhood works over here at the Bowman House then Why HELLO and WELCOME! I’m excited to rant and ramble with you about motherhood and its many arrows!

Always,

Christa

Hi, I’m Cassie.

Although most people know me as Coach Carter’s wife.

It’s been a little over a year since I felt a tugging on my heart to start blogging. I struggled with the decision, because I felt that I didn’t have enough to offer, enough knowledge, enough experience, enough writing skill, but the idea of sharing a little about our life and learning more about others kept creeping back into my mind. So I thought maybe it is time.

First and foremost I am a Christian. Jesus saved me when I was a teenager and I am so thankful for his sacrifice and the impact He has had and continues to have on my life daily.

I am the wife to an incredible man, my high school sweet heart, a man who pours himself into the lives of his players. Paul is currently a Defensive Coordinator at a high school in Georgia. His career path has opened up so many opportunities and exciting things I cannot wait to share with you all!! We are in state #3, in 3 years all because of a little thing called football.

I am the momma to four incredible kids. Our oldest Laura is 6, Bobby is 4, Joey is 2 and Michael is 5 months. They are our arrows and we are so blessed God had filled our quiver. We have just started our second year of homeschooling and I can’t wait to dig in to what that is like and all the things we learn along the way!

My hope is that this blog will be a place of interesting ideas, funny stories, and helpful resources. I’d love nothing more than to be an encouragement to others, like so many have been for me.

I hope you enjoy.
